Staff at The Bury Black Pudding Company are delighted to have been short-listed in two categories at the prestigious Made in Bury Business Awards (MIBBA). Now in their third year, the awards are a joint initiative between 'The Best of Bury' and Bury Council, and seek to champion local businesses and celebrate their outstanding achievements.
Having been nominated in three categories the Bury Black Pudding Company went before the judging panel on 16th October, and have been sort-listed for two awards; the Best in Category - Large Business and Best in Category - Food & Drink awards.
Bury Black Pudding Company Managing Director, Debbie Pierce, said: "As a Bury business we are really pleased to have been recognised in this year's awards line-up. We are a growing local business and employ many local people. As the only black pudding manufacturer based in the town we consider ourselves to be the custodians of this great northern delicacy. Our black pudding is a very traditional product, one which is a part of our town's heritage, and we take this responsibility very seriously."
The company will now have to wait to find out their fate until the awards evening. Brand and Marketing Co-ordinator, Peter Winkler said: "It is fantastic to have been shortlisted as finalists as the competition has been really tough. Whatever the result on the night we are delighted to have been acknowledged as one of Bury's premier businesses."
The Made in Bury Business Awards are the biggest awards of their kind in any metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester and will culminate in a black tie celebration dinner on the evening of Thursday 19th November at the Longfield suite in Prestwich, where the overall winners will be revealed.
