It was a night of accolade for the Bury Black Pudding Company when they attended the Made in Bury Business Awards last week and picked up an overall win and a highly commended award at the prestigious event.
The local team who have also been recognised in previous years were awarded 'Winner' in the Best Food & Drink Business category and 'Highly Commended' in the Best Large Business category. The awards are run as a joint initiative between Bury Council and local marketing company The Best of Bury and seek to recognise excellence and achievement in Bury.
In the Best Food and Drink Business category the Black Pudding Company beat off stiff competition from other exceptional local brands including Slattery and The Lounge, whilst in the Best Large Business Category they were denied first place by plant manufacturing giant Garic, but still took the Highly Commended second place.
Bury Black Pudding Managing Director, Debbie Pierce said: "It has been an amazing night, the quality of all the entrants has been extremely high, and to have won in the Food & Drink category is a brilliant recognition of the hard work and dedication that all our staff put into every product we produce. We are a local business and we employ many local people so these awards are especially significant for us, we are delighted.
