The Bury Black Pudding Company held a socially distanced fundraising day on the 7th October to raise awareness and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of Macmillan's annual Coffee Morning Campaign.
The nation's favourite black pudding manufacturer, which employs almost 100 staff, had to hold their Coffee Morning over the course of the entire day to follow the Company's strict rules and regulations during Covid-19.
In total, The Bury Black Pudding Company raised £790.00 which was matched by the company taking the final monies raised to £1580.00.
Matthew McDermid, Brand & Marketing said: "We want to thank all staff for their kind contributions. We would also like to say a special thank you to the companies who donated raffle prizes - we are extremely grateful for their kind donations. The main reason for this event was to raise awareness and funds for a worthy charity and we will continue to support Macmillan Cancer Support as and when we can with more events like today."
Debbie Pierce, Managing Director said: "This charity, along with our local Bury Hospice, is very close to our heart as we have many staff & family members who have needed their invaluable help & support over the years. We are all very aware how charities are suffering as a result of Covid-19, Macmillan have lost an estimated £100 million. When our NHS is under huge pressure, charities like Macmillan and local hospices offer vital support and take away some of that pressure. We want to thank Macmillan for everything they do and hope the monies raised today will help those people who need it most."
Cheryl Jenkinson, Corporate Fundraising Manager for the North West said: "Thank you so much to the Bury Black Pudding Company, we are overwhelmed with the amount raised during the current pandemic. A big thanks from everyone here at Macmillan Cancer Support, the monies raised will go towards the people who need it most."
