As the UK's leading black pudding brand, we are often asked how to cook black pudding. Black pudding is a very versatile ingredient and can be cooked in a variety of different ways. You can grill, fry, simmer, microwave or even bake black puddings. The simple answer is that there is no right or wrong way.
Our black pudding is fully cooked during manufacture, so yes, you can eat our black pudding right from the pack, cold, if you wish. Please note: If you have bought your black pudding loose from a raw meat counter it should not be eaten cold and must be heated thoroughly in case it has come into contact with other raw meat products.
You will be reassured to know that we make our black pudding using heat-treated, dried blood so there are no associated health risks, only benefits.
Most people do prefer to heat our products before eating so here are a few suggestions on how to warm our products.
Remember our traditional rings have a natural skin which is safe to eat. All our rolls, chubs and sticks have a food-safe printed, recyclable plastic wrapper which cannot be eaten.
